  • Welcome to Coast Helicopter College
Coast Helicopter College (CHC) is the former training division of Vancouver Island Helicopters (VIH), the oldest helicopter company in Canada. Vancouver Island Helicopters began in 1955, and today has over 100 pilots and 80 helicopters ranging from light to heavy, and VFR to multi-engine IFR. VIH services include heli-logging, forest fire fighting, air ambulance, and air charter.

Coast Helicopter College is managed by Bob Reimer, the former chief pilot of Vancouver Island Helicopters, a 15,000 hour pilot and a Transport Canada Designated Flight Examiner.

Coast Helicopter College trains private and commercial helicopter pilots. Flying helicopters is a challenging, exciting and reward career. Before making your final decision on a career as a helicopter pilot, we suggest that you read our helicopter career guide.

Our training base is located at Victoria International Airport, near Sidney. Victoria Airport simultaneously provides ready access many nearly confined area bush landing sites, and the experience of one of Canada's busiest commercial airports.
