Introductory flights are not only for those interested in learning to fly a helicopter, but also for those who would like to see what the experience is like one time. We have taken passengers still in high school who are thinking of being a pilot when they grow up, through to passengers in their '90s. Most are purchased as birthday or Christmas presents.
An introductory flight begins with a walk around the helicopter to show you how the aircraft and its systems work. Followed by a safety briefing and a briefing on the controls, what they do, and how they work. During the flight your instructor will demonstrate how each control works, followed by you taking control. Flight time is 30 minutes. Cost is $260 including tax. (One hour flight is $505 including tax)
Coast Helicopter College is a training institution, however we can take one passenger on scenic flights. Popular destinations are Victoria City, Salt Spring Island, Cowichan Valley, Shawnigan and Sooke Lakes. Cost is $260 including tax for a 30 minute flight, or $505 for a one hour flight.
